Windward Farm | Amanda Dupont

Having grown up on the family breeding farm, Amanda has been involved with Morgan horses her entire life. Entering the show ring at age 2 as a lead line rider, she has been showing ever since. Competing in almost all of the offered divisions as a junior exhibitor, the high lights of her junior years included winning her first national championship at age 13 and first world championship at age 17 both on horses she trained herself on the family farm. She was awarded the Cynthia Eperson Outstanding Youth Award in 1995, and in 1999 she was recognized as the Morgan Connection’s Pyramid Award winner for Amateur Trainer of the Year.

Upon graduating from Penn State in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Renewable Resource Economics and a minor in Economics, Amanda made the decision to turn in her amateur card, relocate and reopen Windward Farm in Port Matilda. The new farm would focus on training and showing rather than breeding and offer instruction to riders of all ages and abilities.  The facility opened its doors to the public in the fall of 2000 with Amanda at the helm as owner/trainer/instructor.  The farm sits on 20 acres, just minutes outside of State College, PA home of Penn State University.

Since handing in her amateur status Amanda has trained or instructed to over 70 world and national championships in multiple divisions.  Working closely with her long time assistant Lynzi Geen, the farm continues to produce top quality horses and riders in multiple disciplines.  A few success stories include MSM Ceres, That’s My Nick, Toast of Broadway, D Bar J Habakkuk, Windward’s Marianna, Carreg Wen Nocturnal Hawk, Deliver The Dream,  CBMF By Popular Demand, Cabot Lynn Marie, Halls Bubblicious and SSLLC Boom Boom.
We invite you to come join the crew!
